A 600 l/h installation for pasteurizing energy shots for one of the leading producers of dietary supplements. The system combines pasteurization, product cooling, heat recovery and automatic CIP cleaning.
The installation was made for one of the leading producers of dietary supplements. The project covered pasteurization of energy shots, where stable temperature, hygiene and process repeatability are important.
The goal was to prepare a system that heats the product to the set temperature, maintains the required pasteurization time and then cools it before the next stage. Reducing energy consumption and enabling automatic cleaning of the installation were also important.
We delivered a 600 l/h flow pasteurizer with product cooling, a heat recovery system, an HMI panel, a 0–8 s holding section, a 1200 l tank with agitator and a mobile CIP station for cleaning the pasteurizer and tank.
Effect of implementation
The most important effect of this implementation is the use of heat recovery. The cold product receives energy from the already heated product, allowing it to reach pasteurization temperature faster. At the same time, the hot product transfers heat to the cold product and is pre-cooled before final cooling with chilled water.
This solution reduces energy demand by approximately 40–60%, which significantly lowers operating costs in the long term. The system maintains stable pasteurization temperature, controls the PU value on the HMI panel and can automatically switch to recirculation or stop the machine in emergency situations.
The cold product is heated using heat from the pasteurized product, while the hot product is pre-cooled.
The automation maintains the pasteurization temperature of 80–90°C with an accuracy of ±1°C.
The mobile CIP station cleans the pasteurizer and tank in one integrated process.
In recirculation mode, the system lowers the temperature and switches off heating to prevent product overheating.
